Mental Health Tips

Our generation is breaking barriers when it comes to the importance of mental health. We’re being more transparent and more of us have sought therapy now than ever before.

Below are some tips to help men take care of their mental health.

Physical Activity:

Whether you go for a walk, run, hit the gym, or workout in your home physical activity is a way to keep you balanced and release stress. Highly recommend implementing this into your daily schedule.

Plan out your Finances:

Men take pride in having finances together. At the beginning of every month create a monthly budget. So that it allows you to see where you current are with your finances. If you need more structure please don’t hesitate to find a local financial advisor.

Time Alone:

Meditation in the morning, prayer, or some sort of alone time whether it be 5 or 10 minutes on a daily is essential. Take the time to breathe and gather your thoughts before starting your day.

Use Your Friends:

Identify some men that are in similar situations as you and create community. It’s beneficial to the group and also the individual when you share and discuss common issues, and help each other create solutions.

Scheduled Downtime:

Often times we get wrapped up in accomplishing goals and getting things done that our schedules runs our lives. Just like you schedule everything else, one day out the week you need scheduled downtime. Pick a day and set aside some time for just you. I’d recommend doing something you enjoy for yourself, or just relaxing.

Live in the Now:

Everything is going to workout perfect. So don’t be focus on the past too much, but also don’t get anxious over your future either. Take life one step at a time and live in the now.

Do What you Can:

Do as much as you can at whatever you’re working toward. Life is a marathon not sprint. Many of us love working under pressure but too much pressure creates stress.

Seek Help:

If you feel that everything you’re trying isn’t working for you don’t be scared to seek professional help. There are licensed professionals available to help you get into the best mental space. You Got this

Our life experiences really shape and mold us into who we are. Most importantly how we were taught to handle our mental health has a huge impact on our perspective and outlook of life. We all have experienced some sort of trauma in life, and I believe going to therapy helps you get a better understanding. Anxiety, depression, panic attacks, and etc are all real. Sometimes its best to seek help so that you can process and adapt methods on how to cope with anything you're experiencing.
